At Presto Piano Studio, we focus on fast progress, a relaxed environment, and music that kids truly want to learn. We create confident, creative musicians who will love music for a lifetime! Unfortunately, this is not the experience you will find at every piano studio. Here’s why.
Boring Piano Lessons…No Thank You!
Did you take piano lessons as a child? Was your teacher grumpy, stuffy, strict, or only taught music you didn’t want to learn?
Maybe you enjoyed playing the piano, but you quickly forgot the things you learned and can no longer read music.
This is a common story that we hear from many parents (and from transfer students as well!).
Piano lessons should be fun, memorable, and teach a lifelong skill. Unfortunately this just is not the case for a lot of families.
We hear from a lot of parents whose experience was negative and boring, or whose kids left a studio where the environment was strict and inflexible.
How We’re Different
Our main goal is to help students make fast progress without sacrificing fun in the process. After being a part of our Junior Musicians Program for 12-18 months, the typical student achieves the following:
- Performs in their first recital (or two!)
- Passes 125+ pages of music in their curriculum
- Can pick up a piece of music on their level and learn it on their own at home
- Becomes a part of our musical community, and learns to share music with others in our student parties and recitals
“Miss Stephanie is an excellent teacher for my daughter. She has a lot of patience with my talkative daughter. She’s learned so much in such a short period and always looks forward to having class with Miss Stephanie.” – Cinthia S.
This is not your typical experience in a stuffy, old-fashioned piano studio. So how do we help our students achieve this kind of success? We use 4 tools to accomplish this: flexibility, a fun learning style, connection, and confidence.
Flexibility with practice and scheduling
- You won’t have to fight with your child over practice habits. Our students make great progress in their lessons even if they don’t have much time for practice during the week.
- We share detailed problem-solving tips every week, so students know exactly what to work on at home.
- If you miss a lesson, we provide makeup classes on weekends to accommodate your needs.
A fun learning style
Students enjoy a playful, fun learning environment in their lessons every week. Here’s how we keep our lessons interesting for kids:
- We use educational games and activities in every lesson that kids ask to play over and over again. The bonus is that these games reinforce the key concepts students need to remember to make beautiful music.
- Students get to play the music they really want to learn (think FNAF, Disney, pop, and other fun musical styles). We also tailor the music book curriculum for each student, so that kids are never stuck with boring, uninspiring music to learn.
Connection
- We create a strong mentorship relationship with each child, so they feel encouraged and capable at the piano. Miss Stephanie focuses on 1:1 connection, kindness, honesty, and positivity in every student’s lesson.
- We have student parties and recitals each semester to create a sense of camaraderie with other students. Kids also learn how to play music with other students and their teacher at these events!
Confidence
- The more you practice a skill, the more confident you become! Our students learn to perform with confidence and ease as they move through each year of the music program. They have 2-4 performance opportunities per school year, and learn calming techniques for playing in recitals.
- We focus not just on musical confidence, but on internal confidence. Every semester, each student sets 2-3 personal goals in their lessons. We celebrate those milestones as students achieve them. As students hone their musical skills and take on greater challenges, they learn to develop resilience and a greater sense of self-esteem. We see this result happening every single week in our students’ lessons.
Additional Benefits
In addition to performing several times a year, developing a lifelong skill, and learning fun music in a playful environment, students receive these benefits when they sign up:
- Our Student Success Packet. This is a packet that gives students (and parents!) all the information they need to succeed in their practice at home.
- A Student Goal Tracker. This is a way for students to set annual goals for their piano lessons. We decide what they want to accomplish for the school year, and list the steps they’ll need to take to get there. As they accomplish each goal, we celebrate their progress and share that success with their parents.
- Recognition on our Student Achievement Wall. Each week, we choose a child who has made great strides in their lessons or accomplished something memorable, take their photo, and celebrate their success.
- The chance to give back to our community. We provide 1-2 opportunities per year for students to perform at local nursing homes. This is a great chance to get involved in their community and use to music to improve the lives of others.

Zach’s Story
“Zach’s old teacher was too much into theory, was very intense and didn’t give him freedom to pick songs. We like how Miss Stephanie lets him pick a song he wants to play outside of the traditional piano method books! Zach really enjoys having Miss Stephanie as a teacher!” -Mariana Y.
